Security integrator Benson Systems, based in Gilbert, Ariz., has named John Thomas III as its CFO.

SMG Communications, the public relations firm for such electronic security clients as the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) and the California Alarm Association (CAA) has named John F. Weir as its president.
Weir has more than 30 years of communications experience, including roles with Burger King and software company Laserfiche.

Dedicated Micros has hired Mark Mabee as integration sales manager, access control.
Mabee was previously director of sales engineering, NA, for access control and video solution provider Novus Edge Inc.

TOA Electronics Inc. has appointed OCOM Sales Inc. of Toscoe, Ill., to represent it in the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska.

Philip Wright has been named president for Denver-based DVR manufacturer American Video Electronics Inc.
In 25 years in the alarm industry, Wright has served as national sales manager of FBI Inc., vice president of sales for Ultrak, co-founder of TVX Inc., founder and president of Alarm Verification Products Inc. and vice president of sales and marketing for Biometrics 2000.
