WEB SITE LAUNCHES TO HELP FIND THOSE MISSING FROM TRADE CENTER
WASHINGTON, D.C.
The Software and Information Industry Association’s (SIIA) Financial Information Services Division (FISD) has launched a World Trade Center Coordination Bulletin Board posted at www.fisd.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi. The bulletin board was created to help in the search for personnel believed to be in the World Trade Center at the time of the devastating and inconceivable terrorist attack Tuesday.
The Web site should be used to post information on the status of people accounted for or still missing. SIIA and FISD are coordinating with other groups in its industry to ensure the list receives broad exposure. At the time of this release, there had been 50 postings to the bulletin board.
“The disaster is horrible and the lack of information is extremely difficult to bear,” said Mike Atkin, vice president and director of FISD. “We all extend our deepest sympathies to our colleagues and their families in this tragic time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.”
In addition to personnel postings, several organizations have also provided information on donations and contact phone numbers. The web site requires no registration.
