Security monitoring firm Westec InterActive Inc. announces its acquisition of Dallas-based Digital Witness LLC, a provider of video monitoring solutions and services to small- and medium-sized businesses. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Digital Witness combined with Westec strengthens our leadership position in the remote video monitoring marketplace,” says Westec Chairman and CEO Gerald Vento. “IP network video monitoring is growing five times faster than the security industry as a whole and Westec is leading the migration to valued-added interactive video monitoring services away from single purpose burglar alarm monitoring.”
Digital Witness video surveillance systems are used in the restaurant, hospitality and specialty retail verticals to monitor sales, employees and customers either onsite or remotely over the Internet.
Digital Witness provides its solutions and services via a subscription-based model that includes equipment and software, turnkey professional installation and ongoing customer service for about $10 a day, according Digital Witness President and CEO Kelby Hagar.
“As a result of this new relationship, Digital Witness will now be able to offer an advanced suite of monitoring services to our existing and future customers that we were not previously able to offer,” says Hagar.
