The Westec Security Group has sold video monitoring provider Westec InterActive Security Inc. to Boca Raton, Fla.’s Level 5 Security. The two video verification companies will merge to form Westec InterActive. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Based in Irvine, Calif., Westec InterActive had more than 100 major customers in 1,500-plus locations around the country, while Level 5 served customers in Southern Florida.
“The combination of Level 5 Security and Westec InterActive provides a strong foundation for us to continue to expand our services beyond security and facilities management to working more in partnership with our customers to
provide comprehensive quality and risk assurance auditing,” said Gerald Vento, chairman and CEO of the new combined company, in a statement. Level 5 President Mitch Johnson will serve the same role at Westec.
The sale of Westec is the second sale of a major monitoring firm based in Irvine within the past month. National Alarm Computer Center Inc. (NACC) was sold to Integrated Alarm Services Group Inc. (IASG) of Albany, N.Y. in early October.
