A group devoted to promoting the work and helping women in the electronic security industry is celebrating the completion of its first year. Women in Security Electronics (WISE) . WISE was formed last January as a way to recruit and retain top-talent women in the industry.
The group, which counts females and males among its membership, assists women in the industry through professional development, mentoring, networking and greater industry exposure.
“The outpouring of support in the industry confirms that our hard work this year has been worthwhile,” said WISE’s legal/treasury chair Tracy Brusca, who is also vice president-Americas for manufacturer/integrator Diebold. “2005 was filled with the often grueling trench-work of setting up the non-profit status, the bank accounts, the marketing, and the infrastructure. Now it’s smooth sailing into the future.”
