PAOLI, Pa – Zeus Fire and Security, a portfolio company of Access Holdings, today announced a new partnership with SEi, a provider of security, fire protection, video surveillance, access control and monitoring solutions headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.
SEi “will join forces with Zeus to further the company’s mission of protecting People, Property, and Profits while strengthening Zeus’ presence across Nebraska, Iowa and the greater Midwest,” according to the joint announcement. For more than five decades, SEi “has built a reputation for delivering innovative security solutions, exceptional customer service and trusted protection for businesses, institutions, and homeowners.”
“SEi has established itself as one of the most respected security providers in the country through its commitment to customers, innovation and operational excellence,” says Scott R. Elkins, chief executive officer of Zeus Fire and Security, in the joint announcement.
“Their expertise in commercial security, video surveillance, access control, monitoring, fire systems and integrated technology solutions has made them a trusted partner for customers throughout the region,” he says. “Their strong culture, talented team, and reputation for industry leadership make them an ideal addition to the Zeus family.
“Together, we will continue investing in people, technology and capabilities that create even greater value for our customers,” he says.
Why Did Zeus Fire and Safety Acquire SEi?
Founded in 1969, SEi provides “a comprehensive portfolio of security and life safety solutions, including intrusion detection, video surveillance, access control, fire alarm systems, monitoring services and integrated technologies,” according to the joint announcement.
The company is recognized for “its expertise in designing and supporting complex commercial security environments across healthcare, education, financial services, government and commercial markets throughout the Midwest,” the announcement says.
SEi is “a highly accretive addition to the Zeus platform, combining immediate scale benefits with significant long-term value creation opportunities,” according to the joint announcement.
The acquisition “strengthens Zeus’s position as a leading commercial fire and security provider by adding a rare, scaled Midwest platform with over 90% commercial revenue, a highly recurring revenue base and a strong market presence across Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri,” the announcement says.
Beyond “the immediate financial benefits,” the transaction “creates a new regional hub capable of supporting substantial organic growth and future M&A activity, increased recurring revenue and enhanced shareholder value,” according to the joint announcement.
“Joining Zeus represents an exciting opportunity for our employees, customers, and communities,” says Mike Meridith, former CEO of SEi and incoming senior vice president of corporate development for the Midwest at Zeus Fire and Security, in the joint announcement.
“Throughout our history, we’ve remained focused on building lasting relationships and delivering solutions our customers can depend on,” he says. “Partnering with Zeus gives us access to additional resources, expertise, and growth opportunities while preserving the customer-first approach and local relationships that have defined SEi for decades.”
Zeus Continues its Expansion Plans
Zeus Fire and Security was established in 2022 to partner with fire protection and security companies across North America. The partnership with SEi “reflects Zeus’s continued commitment to building a national network of premier operators that share a common dedication to service excellence, employee development and customer success,” according to the joint announcement.
“From our first conversations, it was clear that Zeus shares our values and long-term vision,” says Matt Vellek, president of SEi, in the joint announcement. “This partnership allows us to accelerate growth, expand opportunities for our team members and enhance the services we provide our customers. We are excited about what we can accomplish together as part of the Zeus family.”
The addition of SEi “further strengthens Zeus’s growing national footprint and enhances its ability to deliver comprehensive fire and security solutions across Zeus’s cohesive regions and end markets,” according to the joint announcement.
