FAIRFIELD, N.J. — ZKAccess, a provider of biometric and RFID security solutions, announces the availability of its ZKBioPack software. ZKBioPack adds biometric readers to Schneider Electric’s Continuum access control software.

Integrated door access control is one of Schneider Electric’s most significant offerings. In response to increased global demand for biometrics, the company sought a cost-effective integrated solution for its customers.

Now Schneider Electric customers can launch the ZKBioPack software application from within their Continuum software interface when ZKAccess IP-based biometric readers are added. Supported ZKAccess biometric models include the F18 indoor fingerprint reader, TF1700 & TF1600 outdoor fingerprint readers and the MB700 multi-biometric fingerprint and face reader. ZKAccess biometric readers have the very same power, wiring and communication requirements as do any other third party readers, which ZKAccess says makes it easy to install.

After launching ZKBioPack from within Continuum, admins enroll their employees’ biometric credentials (fingerprints and/or faces) by using a ZKAccess USB fingerprint enrollment device attached to the computer running Continuum. After biometric enrollment is complete, ZKBioPack subsequently synchronizes the biometric templates with all the ZKAccess biometric readers on the network. Fingerprint template synchronization is performed in the background, making the ZKBioPack security system entirely transparent to Continuum users.
