ISC West: Takeaways From Day 1

Elika Access Systems

Elika is a new entrant to the marketplace that was born out of Irvine, Calif.-based Viking Access Systems. SSI met with Alex Tehranchi, president, and Daniel Perez (above), chief engineer, on the show floor. The duo said Elika’s big differentiation among current telephone entry and gate operator systems is that their products leverage the latest technologies, and feature varied architectural options. One example, the ELIKA BLE uses Bluetooth and smartphones to grant access. A guest can receive Elika Keys with time and access limits. Once they get in proximity of the system, their smart device will be recognized and the Elika system and will allow access without the smart device being removed from their pocket.

Another example, the Elika 460 telephone entry system has been designed to be compatible with wireless communication sources, including VoIP, BLE (Bluetooth), WiFi, 3G and 4G cellular. No longer are users bound by old copper phone lines or expensive add-on boxes, Perez said.
