ISC West: Takeaways From Day 1
Among its portfolio of smart home products and solutions on display at ISC West, Nortek Security & Control is introducing three new Z-Wave GoControl water control and monitoring products: a smart irrigation controller, smart flow detector and a smart flood detector. Avi Rosenthal, vice president of security security and control, told SSI the trio of products provide resource conservation, flood and leak warnings and protection from potential home damage. For example, the smart flow detector (above) easily attaches to a copper water pipe – no plumber needed nor need to cut pipes to install – and will send alerts to the homeowner’s smartphone when water has been flowing for longer than their predetermined parameters.
