Speco Technologies President Todd Keller explains the origins of the company, which was founded in 1958 as a speaker specialist. Keller’s father, Louis, joined the business in 1964, purchased it in 1973 and was responsible for it expanding into a thriving video surveillance and professional sound equipment supplier. Todd Keller joined the company in 1982 and was named president in 2006, a few years after several brands were consolidated under the Speco name and the business went private. Today, the firm employs about 100 people and has revenues of $85 million.
