It is interesting to see how the public is quickly learning some of the pitfalls of fingerprint readers, with sensors now appearing on everyday laptops. There is a new fingerprint scanning product called the AxisKey that uses a patented 3D surface imaging technology called ultrasound impediography sensing. It is similar to ultrasound technology that many people are familiar with today. The manufacturer, Sonavation of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., states that the technology is spoof resistant, has a unique sensor signature, low power consumption and is cost effective. Coming soon will be the ability to secure not only your E-mail and social media accounts, but online and offline credit/debit and ATM transactions.
