Addressable Panel Accepts Any Type of Wire

The IntelliKnight series addressable fire alarm panels, manufactured by Silent Knight of Maplegrove, Minn., uses digital technology instead of traditional analog. This enables installers to use almost any kind of wire, such as THHN electrical and traditional fire wire. Silent Knight says that most analog-based addressable panels use traditional twisted UTP with shield.

According to Silent Knight, the IntelliKnight addressable product line features a variety of fire alarm control panels. The 5700 is best suited for small applications, the 5080 for medium-size and the 5820XL for larger facilities.  All IntelliKnight panels feature drift compensation to reduce the likelihood of unwanted alarms because of dust and dirt, as well as addressable technology so the cause of trouble and alarm signals can be readily and quickly determined. Silent Knight will feature the IntelliKnight panels at ISC West at Booth 21033.
