Aiphone JO Series Video Intercom Receives Enhancements for Homeowners, Small Businesses

Updates to the Aiphone intercoms include the ability to add a second door station and a new multi app-compatible master station.

REDMOND, Wash. — Aiphone, a manufacturer of intercom and security communication products, has introduced several system enhancements for its JO Series video intercom aimed at homeowners and small businesses.

Updates include the ability to add a second door station and a new multi app-compatible master station. Performance enhancements to other existing Aiphone systems were also added, according to the company.

The new JOW-2D adaptor enables the connection of a second door station to any existing JO Series system. After answering a call, users can see and speak with visitors and then unlock the door with the touchscreen monitor, or by using a slider button on the app. The adaptor has inputs for two JO Series video door stations and outputs to control door release for each station.

The new JO-1MDW master station is hardwired to ensure calls are answered even when the Internet is down or slow, while the 7-inch monitor connects to as many as eight mobile apps on smart devices to keep multiple family or staff members connected to the system while on the go, according to the company.

A new network adaptor (IPW-1VC) upgrades existing 2-wire analog intercom systems enabling them to become part of a IX Series 2 peer-to-peer IP video intercom solution. Aiphone says the adaptor saves time and resources by reusing existing wire and that the unit’s compact design fits behind most door or substations.

Aiphone’s GT Series video intercom, designed for use at multi-tenant facilities, has a new door station designed to work specifically with Pedestal PRO’s low-profile 63-inch stainless-steel tower.

The station-pedestal combination offers an aesthetic way to add security to any façade where mounting directly onto the building is not an option, according to the company. The station offers all GT Series features including NFC programming.
