Altronix NetwaySP2P Converts 1 Fiber Cable Into 2 Ethernet Ports

The Altronix NetwaySP2P converts a single fiber cable into two 1Gb Ethernet ports providing PoE/PoE+, allowing multiple IP devices to be deployed at greater distances utilizing fiber.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Altronix, a leader in power and transmission solutions for the professional security industry, announces the release of the NetWaySP2P 2-port media converter/injector.

The NetwaySP2P converts a single fiber cable into two 1Gb Ethernet ports providing PoE/PoE+, allowing multiple IP devices to be deployed at greater distances utilizing fiber. This can reduce the need for additional cabling, equipment and installation costs, according to the company.

The device provides up to 30W per port in a compact insulated housing and can be powered locally or remotely using Altronix WayPoint562, NetWay1D or NetWaySP4 rack series that provide 56VDC.

Available accessories for the unit include the Altronix P1MM and P1SM10 SFP modules which are compatible with all Altronix NetWay Spectrum products.

Altronix says the P1MM is to be used with multi-mode fiber for distances up to 550m and the P1SM10 is to be used with single-mode fiber for distances up to 10Km.

“Altronix worked closely with installers when designing the new NetWaySP2P to help power multiple devices at remote installation sites,” says Alan Forman, president, Altronix Corp. “Using fiber with copper or a single composite cable to connect two IP devices with power delivers extreme efficiencies on multiple levels.”

The NetWaySP2P is manufactured in the U.S.A. and is backed by a lifetime warranty.
