Camera Uses Ultra-Wide Dynamic Range Sensor to Avoid Washout
Lumenera Corp. of Ottawa, Canada, announces the release of the Li family of intelligent surveillance cameras that feature Texas Instrument’s (TI) patented DaVinci technology. That technology is apparent in the Li045’s ultra-wide dynamic range sensor. This enables the camera to overcome the issue of washed-out images in difficult lighting conditions. The camera also allows the installer to select between JPEG and H.264 compression to address the issue of quality vs. bandwidth.
The DaVinci technology-based processor used in the Li045 places the intelligence in the camera instead of the head-end. This relieves the network loading situation in backroom servers. The camera is also able to run the full suite of analytics from ObjectVideo.
