The iSMART™ is a professional-grade dual-technology access control card reader incorporating an Essex Electronics (Carpinteria, Calif.) stainless-steel piezoelectric keypad with an HID iCLASS® reader. Weatherproof and vandal resistant, this reader contains no moving parts and has laser-marked keypad graphics to withstand wear from high use and harsh environments.
With up to 3 inches of read range, additional security is provided by way of 13.56MHz contactless smart-card technology that offers encryption with a secure algorithm. iCLASS technology provides interoperability in diverse applications, including access control, biometric verification, first responder/handheld products, PC secure log-on, time and attendance, point-of-sale/cashless vending, intercom and other applications.
