Ethernet System Can Handle 16 Clients Per Access Point
Mountain View, Calif.-based AvaLAN Wireless has released AW900T, an industrial-grade 900MHz nonline-of-sight wireless Ethernet system, and AW5900T, an industrial-grade 5.8GHz system. Both systems are available in outdoor,
indoor and OEM module versions.
The product uses a point-to-multipoint system configuration with a single radio acting as the access point. It can use up to 16 clients per access point with a 1.54Mbps aggregate data rate, according to the company.
The device has up to 12 access points at 900MHz – 5.8GHz can also be installed – and results in more than 1,000 wireless Ethernet devices site-wide.
