Minuteman Launches New Entrust LCD Series Battery Backup Systems
The new product line features power protection that protects valuable equipment.
DALLAS — Para Systems announced Thursday the release of the Minuteman Entrust LCD Series of UPSs, featuring a variety of new features and capabilities. The new line of uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) offers power protection designed to protect valuable equipment such as desktop computers, file servers, network devices, security systems, voice communications equipment and home entertainment systems.

The Entrust LCD Series UPSs utilize Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) technology, surge protection and battery backup to provide total protection from all power problems. With four models ranging from 550VA to1500VA, these new products feature an ultra-slim footprint that is ideal for placement on or under a desk, while also allowing installation vertically in tight spaces, including cabinets and rack shelves, according to the company.
With the new LCD status display, users can stay on top of all aspects of their power at a glance. The LCD shows power condition status, estimated battery backup time, battery capacity, total load and other conditions. Coupled with the LCD display is the ability to monitor power conditions via Minuteman’s SentryHD power monitoring software. Users have real-time monitoring capabilities of power status, along with the ability to plug into an SNMP network via the USB port on the UPS. Minuteman’s SentryHD software is available at no charge and automatically saves and shuts down unfinished applications, while powering down during extended blackouts. This feature prevents lost data as well as the need to re-install corrupted applications caused by power problems.
Also new on the products is a tool-less battery replacement feature, allowing the user to quickly and easily replace batteries without the need for any tools, according to the company. In addition, the new Entrust series features hot-swappable battery replacement and independent battery bypass, allowing the UPS to function in AC Normal mode even when the batteries are dead, while also providing voltage regulation, surge and spike protection. The new ETRs feature ENERGY STAR certification, meeting government efficiency ratings, along with being compliant with the Reduction of Hazardous Materials Directive (RoHS 2).
