BCDVideo announces the latest innovation to its server storage line: the Aurora Server Series.
According to BCDVideo, based in Northbrook, Ill., the Aurora systems are built specifically for the under 50-camera marketplace, but with system throughput of more than 400Mbps, they possess the bandwidth capabilities to scale to 100 cameras. Other features include redundant power, 12Gbps RAID controller with 2GB of flash-based write cache, hot-pluggable hard drives, and server-grade CPUs with 10000 PassMark rating.
A key element within these recorders, according to the company, is their use of HGST helium drivers that feature reliability rating of 2.5M MTBF. These surveillance hard drives are said to feature superior random write capabilities, which account for 90-95% of a hard drive’s usage in a surveillance solution.
