Tyco Security Products Releases Improved Temperature Performance Illustra Flex Outdoor Mini-Domes

New cameras operate in cold environments as low as -40 degrees Celsius.

Tyco Security Products, based in Westford, Mass., has released a temperature performance improvement to the Illustra Flex Series of IP cameras, providing end users in colder environments with better IP video solution.

The new 1 and 3 megapixel Illustra Flex Outdoor Mini-Domes operate in -40 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius (-40 degrees Fahrenheit to 122 degrees Fahrenheit) using standard PoE power instead of 24vAC power. This change lowers the overall power consumption, according to Tyco Security Products, and simplifies the wiring infrastructure necessary for outdoor camera installations.

The cameras also feature 3D noise reduction to provide clear, stable video while reducing storage requirements, varifocal lenses for maximum viewing area and IP-66 rating to protect against water and dust damage.

The Flex Outdoor Mini-Domes offer a range of optional mount brackets and accessories so they can be tailored for almost any installation environment, according to the company.
