Video Sensor Counts People and Provides Composite Video
The VDP-100, made by Amseco of St. Louis, a Potter company, is a video-based product that can count the number of people who pass through a specific area. The composite video from the detector can also be used for real-time video surveillance as well as after-the-fact viewing using a DVR or time-lapse tape recorder. The VDP-100 can distinguish direction of motion, enabling it to count the number of people coming and going through a specific area, which provides an accurate accounting of everyone inside a building, for example.
The unit comes with two distinctive chime tones and can be mounted on the ceiling or wall. The counter memory is nonvolatile and can be reset manually at will. The VDP-100 kit includes the video sensor unit, power transformer, counter display, connecting cables, power cord with in-line-switch, mounting bracket, installation manual and necessary mounting hardware.
