Remo+ to Bring the ‘World’s First and Only’ Over-the-Door Smart Camera to ISC West

DoorCam, the company’s over-the-door smart camera, can be placed over most residential doors with no wires or screws needed.

SSI spoke with Remo+ Managing Director Paul Lee about what to expect from the company at ISC West. Visit them at booth 34057.

What is the top product or offering your company is showing off at ISC West this year, and what makes it unique or special?

We’re excited to present DoorCam, the world’s first and only over-the-door smart camera. The camera can be placed over most residential doors, no wires or screws needed, expanding home security to renters. The camera’s WiFi chipset/antenna and batteries rest inside the house by design which enables superior network connection and convenient battery replacement from within the house.

What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of their unique qualities?

RemoBell W Hardwired Video Doorbell is the latest addition to the RemoBell product line and supports full HD video, On Demand streaming and faster motion detection than its predecessor, RemoBell.

Due to popular request, we also released Chime as an add-on gadget for all remo+ devices. Chime plugs into any USB outlet and rings when someone activates a remo+ device via doorbell or motion detection, making it perfect for when you’re in the house and away from your phone.

What else is new or noteworthy about the company for 2018?

We are growing our presence in retail/e-tail including nationwide brands such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, HSN, and Fry’s.

DoorCam 2 is scheduled to be released later this year and will address many of its current limitations, thus broadening its application.

What is your company’s overall value proposition to installing security dealers/integrators? Why should they do business with you?

Remo+ products have the simplest installation process which requires minimal training and can be a easy add-on to the integrators’ existing business.

With DoorCam, security dealers/integrators can expand their reach to apartment and condo renters/owners.

Our customer support is quick and accessible, ensuring end user satisfaction post-purchase.

What do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace right now?

One of the top requests we receive is DoorCam compatibility in homes with non-standard doors or those with storm/screen doors which we are working to fulfill.

All WiFi based products face some level of connectivity issues that cause ineffective footage and delays, but DoorCam has the opportunity to better serve those in areas with poor WiFi connection.

There’s a growing number of apartment, condo and shared housing dwellers, but they do not have much option when it comes to securing their homes due to tenant regulations that prohibit installations that damage the property. DoorCam bypass these restrictions, giving access to a broader market.

More people are switching from traditional security services to smart solutions to take security into their own hands and stay connected. As they seek simpler and intuitive solutions, the demand for “smart” products in general are ever-growing.
