Hit the Jackpot With SSI’s Most Valuable Security Products of 2018

The more than 1,000 exhibitors at the recent ISC West show in Las Vegas is a testament to the high volume of new products currently flooding the electronic security marketplace, and the 30,000+ professionals in attendance at that event is proof positive of the great interest in those wares.

But like a small-town, first-time visitor to Vegas itself, there’s so many flashy and stimulating things vying for your attention that finding something truly worth investing time and money in can be daunting to say the least.

While you’re on your own with the madness of the Strip or Fremont Street, there is something to bring sanity and clarity to the ISC gear glut. Now in its fourth year, Security Sales & Integration’s Most Valuable Product (MVP) Awards program zeroes in on which innovative new devices and technologies are likely to have the most significant impact on the effectiveness and success of security dealer, integration and monitoring companies.

The potential riches offered are akin to hitting the craps table with loaded dice. As has been the case in past years, the SSI MVP Awards were revealed and handed out at the convention center on the eve of the big show.

All products considered for the program had to have been released in the past 18 months or set to be available later in 2018. Each entry was evaluated by an independent panel of experienced integrators and security consultants based on the criteria of product design, features and benefits.

The latter included the ability of the device to help integrators open up avenues to a potential new customer base, enable them to design and install systems faster and thus more profitably, or help them gain a profitable margin on the equipment itself.

In total, 22 MVP winners were chosen spanning the 10 primary categories of Access Control, Business Operations, Central Station/Monitoring, Fire/Life Safety, Home Controls, Installation Aids, Intrusion Detection, Miscellaneous Security Products, Security Apps and Video Surveillance.
