SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — Snoqualmie Valley School District (SVSD) has teamed with Honeywell to “modernize and integrate its building systems across 13 campuses into a single, cutting-edge automated control center,” according to a joint announcement.

The new partnership “will help enhance safety, improve responsiveness and increase operational efficiency for the district,” the announcement says.

As one of Washington State’s largest and most geographically diverse school districts, the Snoqualmie Valley School District “will leverage the Honeywell Enterprise Building Integrator (EBI) platform to manage the campuses in its district more efficiently through a single connected, intelligent dashboard,” according to the announcement.

Across the district, the EBI platform “will unite oversight of elements such as access control, video surveillance, HVAC management, fire life safety monitoring and building scheduling,” the announcement says.

“The ability to seamlessly integrate these inputs in one platform will empower SVSD to act quickly and decisively in any situation, enabling heightened situational awareness and round-the-clock monitoring to reinforce the well-being of the more than 7,500 students and faculty throughout its school communities,” the announcement says.

“Our long-standing partnership with Honeywell is instrumental in creating secure, efficient spaces for our students to thrive,” says Dan Schlotfeldt, superintendent of the Snoqualmie Valley School District, in the joint announcement.

“By upgrading to the latest Honeywell building platform, we are able to stay ahead of the curve to further ensure our facilities are safe, efficient and ready for the current and future needs of our students, teachers and staff,” he says.

What Did Honeywell Do for Snoqualmie Valley Schools?

Honeywell’s upgraded EBI solution was configured to meet Snoqualmie Valley School District’s unique operational needs, including:

  • Combining multiple building systems on one platform: By using an open platform with a streamlined management interface, Honeywell’s scalable system offers security, comfort and operational analytics. The system features real-time data that meets cybersecurity standards.
  • Bolstering security with integrated video monitoring: Honeywell’s Digital Video Manager (DVM) enables SVSD to integrate key security components, including IP cameras, video analytics and access control to monitor live video from each campus and automate responses.
  • Offering integrated map-driven displays: With Honeywell’s Command and Control Suite (CCS), Snoqualmie Valley School District officials can access map-driven displays that provide situational awareness via on-screen access to the integrated security videos, enterprise dashboards and other vital process information that is critical in an emergency.
“We’re using automation to help customers including SVSD reimagine the full potential of what a safe, connected learning environment can be,” says Sudhakar Janakiraman, president of Honeywell Building Solutions, in the announcement. “Our partnership with SVSD exemplifies how our cutting-edge technology can empower schools to respond faster, operate smarter and create spaces where students and educators can excel.”
