DataBank: Global Retail Shrinkage Declines

Global shrink retreated 5.6 percent during the most recent 12-month period, according to the 4th annual Global Retail Theft Barometer, reversing last year’s spike in shrink rates in every geographic market. The survey asked retailers to provide information associated with shrinkage July 2009 through June 2010, which is widely believed to be a timeframe when many regional economies began to stabilize and resume growth after the economic near collapse starting in 2008.
