Installing and monitoring security dealer and integrator companies in the residential market are averaging a little north of $50 in RMR per customer. Given that SSI’s 2017 Installation Business Report showed the average home burglar alarm monitoring fee is $30 it would seem companies are successfully billing additional home services such as fire, life-safety, video, access and network offerings.

Companies participating in commercial business average more than seven times as much RMR per customer as drawn by residential accounts. Since SSI’s 2016 Installation Business Report showed less than a fourth average in excess of $50 in monthly commercial intrusion monitoring, other offerings like fire, video, access, networking and maintenance are raising total account value.
