When it comes to video surveillance, the value of a system emanates from the sum-total of the images the system provides and how those images are processed, stored, accessed, analyzed and used to improve a customer’s operation.
Assuming a system’s data has been stored and protected, the next priority is to ¬find ways to exploit the value of the data and to leverage it for better security, to protect against legal liability claims and to improve an enterprise’s operation. How data is exploited to yield value is the last piece of the video surveillance puzzle, and in many ways the most exciting.
