Bosch at ISC West 2023: AI Software, IVA Pro Cameras and More

At its all-new ISC West booth, Bosch will showcase many new products as well as solutions for vertical markets that make systems more effective and easier to manage.

ISC West 2023 will be held March 28-31 at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas. Ahead of this year’s show, SSI heard from Bosch Security and Safety Systems Director of Marketing – Video Systems, North America Paul Garms about what the company will be showcasing at ISC West, its value proposition and more.

What is a leading product or offering your company is showing off at ISCW this year, and what makes it unique or special?

Bosch is driving the future of AI in video surveillance by bringing solution-specific artificial intelligence software to its video security cameras. Intelligent Video Analytics Pro (IVA Pro) software delivers valuable insights to operators to help improve efficiency, simplicity, security and safety. IVA Pro supports building security and operations (IVA Pro Buildings), perimeter security (IVA Pro Perimeter), traffic monitoring (IVA Pro Traffic) and intelligent object tracking (IVA Pro Intelligent Tracking).

These solutions can reliably detect and classify objects and understand object movement, providing operators with a deeper understanding of scenes. A more in-depth scene understanding enables informed decision-making for a quick response. For most security practices, IVA Pro Buildings and IVA Pro Traffic software eliminate the need for onsite calibration for object detection and classification. They also include an intuitive map-based calibration tool when users require long-range perimeter detection, object tracking and filtering based on size and speed.

Any other products or offerings would you like to highlight?

We will also showcase the first cameras to bring IVA Pro to market – the FLEXIDOME 5100i fixed dome cameras come pre-installed with IVA Pro Buildings and offer IVA Pro Perimeter and IVA Pro Traffic as purchased licenses. The FLEXIDOME 5100i series offers 2- and 5-megapixels – along with an 8-megapixel/4K ultra high-definition model available soon – and IR and non-IR versions for maximum flexibility when meeting specific customer requirements.

New moving cameras and bullet cameras being previewed at the booth will also feature IVA Pro in the near future. The DINION 7100i IR bullet cameras are for high-security or traffic applications that demand long-range detection and classification. Their exceptional low-light image performance combined with application-specific AI ensures the highest reliability in extreme environments. In challenging conditions, built-in starlight X, HDR X and powerful intelligent IR deliver exceptional performance over extended distances.

The new AUTODOME 7100i moving cameras track and classify objects in busy scenes, even if an object stops. The cameras expand intelligent object tracking with AI in traffic and cities and accurately detect and count people and vehicles. A completely new, robust ball form factor includes a closed loop design, so the cameras never lose position.

Both camera series will come pre-installed with IVA Pro Buildings and IVA Pro Perimeter and offer IVA Pro Traffic as a purchased license.  IVA Pro Intelligent Tracking will also be available for the AUTODOME 7100i.

What else is new or noteworthy about the company for 2023?

At Bosch, we are continuing to grow our service offering to improve efficiency for integrators, allowing them to serve more customers. Already, our cameras can be connected to the Bosch Remote Portal for remote configuration, firmware updates, health checks and more. This year, with the launch of our new DIVAR IP all-in-one 4000 and 6000 recording solutions, we add the optional Remote System Management that includes services to help integrators avoid unnecessary trips to customer sites. Remote System Management includes inventory management, providing the latest system inventory information to enable better planning. Update management enables remote DIVAR IP software and firmware updates, and health monitoring provides real-time information and alerts on system health.

What is your company’s overall value proposition to security dealers/integrators? Why should they do business with you?

Bosch offers high-quality products backed by excellent service and support. By providing a broad portfolio, seamless integration of products and intelligent devices, we enable integrators to create smart, customized solutions that substantially improve security and offer clear business advantages beyond security by gathering data for informed decision-making. Our AI-enabled video systems support users in understanding their environment more deeply so they can respond proactively to situations, which minimizes risks and potential damages – ultimately giving them the ability to know what’s next. These capabilities are creating new possibilities for integrators to grow their businesses.

What do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace right now?

Application-specific offerings for video analytics – like our IVA Pro offerings – make it easier for integrators to deploy the technology to solve customer pain points around building security, perimeter security, traffic monitoring and more with cameras that offer built-in intelligence. For example, opportunities exist to use video analytics for advanced intrusion detection in an around buildings and for long-distance detection of perimeter breaches at energy facilities or other critical sites. Additionally, detection of pedestrians and classification of vehicles can help city planners and traffic engineers deploy real-time safety solutions on streets and highways and gather data on roadway usage to improve mobility and efficiency in smart cities. Analytics customized to the needs of specific markets combined with a setup that often requires no onsite video analytics calibration will make implementation easier.

Integration of intelligent video with other security systems will also be a key driver in other markets, such as education, where integrated systems help to increase security and reduce complexity. In both K-12 schools and on college campuses, risks are constantly evolving, ranging from vandalism and theft to violence among students or from external threats. Integrating video, security and communications solutions helps to mitigate risks and maximize the safety of buildings and grounds.

At ISC West, we will showcase solutions for these vertical markets in our all-new booth, giving integrators the opportunity to experience how Bosch products are designed to work together to make systems more effective and easier to use and manage.

Anything else you would like to add?

Bosch is introducing many new products at ISC West, and this includes IP-based Horn Loudspeakers that are designed to integrate with video systems to further strengthen the protection of people and property. With superior sound quality and integration for two-way Voice-over-IP communications, they enable immediate audio intervention when intelligent cameras detect security risks.
