Kaadas at ISC West 2023: KA202 Z-Wave Fingerprint Keypad Deadbolt, New Lines of Smart Locks

Expansion into North America means Kaadas is ready to make its many solutions available to security professionals nationwide.

ISC West 2023 will be held March 28-31 at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas. Ahead of this year’s show, SSI heard from Nick English, CEO North America, Kaadas, about what the company will be showcasing at ISC West, opportunities in the marketplace and more.

What is a leading product or offering your company is showing off at ISCW this year, and what makes it unique or special?

One of the products we are most excited to showcase at ISC West this year is the Kaadas KA202 Z-Wave Fingerprint Keypad Deadbolt. Featuring a 3D biometric fingerprint sensor, this solution from our new 200 Series ANSI Grade 2 lineup is unique because it is capable of touch and unlock in as little as 0.3 seconds and supports up to 50 fingerprints for personalized access management. This lock is compatible with Z-Wave 700 or 800 modules for enhanced connectivity and, as a Z-Wave certified product, automatically compatible with the largest smart home and security ecosystem of over 4,100 other certified Z-Wave devices. Beyond mechanical key or fingerprint access, the KA202 also supports up to 250 unique user pin codes, which allows users to create unique codes for every single person in the home, friends, family and authorized service providers. Lastly, compatibility with existing door hardware makes the KA202 smart lock easy to install and a seamless, yet secure addition to any installation.

Any other products or offerings that you would like to highlight?

In addition to the KA202 Z-Wave Fingerprint Keypad Deadbolt, which is a part of our new 200 Series ANSI Grade 2 lock line up, Kaadas will be introducing a full line of traditional electronic locks, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Z-Wave connected smart locks to security professionals in North America. With expanded operations, new-to-market electronic and smart lock solutions including Kaadas locks with thumbprint access and built-in video doorbells will be highlighted and become available.

What else is new or noteworthy about the company for 2023?

Kaadas is one of the largest, and most popular, electronic lock providers you’ve never heard of – until now. Kaadas has served the global lock industry for over 30 years and is consistently a top choice among lock brands globally. The technology, craftsmanship, reliability and innovation found within Kaadas solutions has been proven globally. With expansion into the North America market, the company is prepared to make the popular, full line of electronic and smart locks available in an all-new market for Kaadas. The most exciting news for the company in 2023 is our expansion into this new market and the access security dealers and installers will now have to a full suite of new-to-market locking solutions they can install to satisfy customer needs.

What is your company’s overall value proposition to security dealers/integrators? Why should they do business with you?

A 30-year legacy is what makes Kaadas unique and sets the company apart from other lock manufacturers within the industry. Over three decades of experience has permitted Kaadas to push the envelope of technology offerings within electronic lock solutions to offer multiple options and styles at affordable price points.

Globally, customers are getting more and more tech-savvy. With that comes the expectation, and demand, for new features and expanded capabilities. To keep pace with the demands of end-users, now is an excellent time to introduce new products, technologies, and brands, and for security dealers and integrators to stock their trucks with the latest and greatest solutions available. Backed by three decades of experience, Kaadas has achieved the ideal balance between advanced features and affordability. Expansion into North America means Kaadas is ready to make those solutions available to security professionals nationwide.

What do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace right now?

The locking hardware market is headed toward a period of great disruption. Through this disruption, there will be a great deal of opportunity. While the general end-user is getting more tech-savvy, an increasing number of companies within the security industry are undergoing brand consolidation efforts to increase their offerings under a brand name customers recognize and trust. This opportunity is magnified for Kaadas. As both a provider of cutting-edge electronic lock solutions and an established OEM partner, Kaadas is well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities to come.

Anything else you would like to add?

There are two competing forces at odds that those within the security industry – Kaadas included – will have to strike a balance between in order to remain successful and relevant. On the one hand, there’s pricing control and navigating supply-chain disruptions and shortages. This is needed to ensure that prices of products do not get so out of hand that solutions are locked out of being included in security packages or installs due to price. On the other hand, there is the desire to add more features, more benefits and technology integrated into new solutions. These two forces compete with each other. As companies battle to keep cost of production down and reasonable, every advanced feature or benefit works to drive the cost of the solution up. Providers that will be successful in the future will be the ones that strike that perfect balance between solutions that are feature-rich, yet affordable.
