ADI Extends Reach Into Europe After Acquisition

Published: March 31, 2006

MELVILLE, N.Y. — Security distributor ADI’s large reach across the States will now extend across the Atlantic after parent company Honeywell announced Feb. 27 that it is acquiring European security products distributor Gardiner Groupe Europe.

Gardiner, based in Paris, is one of the largest security distributors in Europe with 75 branches in 10 European countries. ADI President Tom Polson says the union will make ADI a serious player in Europe and should also translate into an impact at home.

“It won’t have a significant impact to the North American contractor, but it can benefit the North American supplier. It could also give them entry into the European market. In turn, it gives European suppliers an opportunity in the U.S. market,” says Polson, who adds U.S. dealers and integrators won’t be out of the loop. “The North American contractor will have the opportunity to see additional items for their portfolio.”
