Some 32 security professionals seized the opportunity for some fun in the sun before getting down to the business of the International Security Conference (ISC) 2000 Las Vegas by teeing up for the First Annual Sentex Scramble Tournament at the Stallion Mountain Country Club.

Sentex Systems Inc. of Chatsworth, Calif., organized the golf tournament as a relationship-building event to get to know its customers outside the work environment. Security Sales was one of several participating companies that sponsored holes.

A composite score of 9-under par was good enough for the team of Mike Hoder (Sentex regional manager) and Trace Batie, Blain Shelton and Alan Kent (all of Park Pro) to capture first place. Prizes and awards were also distributed to the second-place team, as well as to the player with the longest drive and the person placing his or her ball closest to the pin.

Later, at ISC, Sentex unveiled Evolution, its new telephone entry and access control system, a line of electronic gate operators and its new Web site (www.sentexsystems.com).
