In this exclusive interview with SSI, Tom Worthington of Kings III discusses recurring monthly revenue — or RMR — opportunities. Kings III is, of course, a leader in emergency communication solutions, with particular prominence in the elevator category. Worthington, who is director of dealer sales, chats with Dan Ferrisi, group editor, commercial and security, Emerald, about the power of RMR.
Worthington describes Kings III as “…a whole business built around RMR.” He describes the value of recurring monthly revenue, saying, “For typical integrators, you just want to be in a position to be sticking to your customers. You want contracts that constantly give you revenue. And you want some stability — consistency. So, that’s the really good thing about RMR.”
Kings III Focused on Elevator Phone Monitoring RMR Opportunities
Kings III is particularly focused on RMR opportunities centering on elevator phone monitoring. That, of course, also can extend to emergency phone monitoring (e.g., area rescue, swimming pool phones). As Worthington explains it, “In today’s world, with cellular communications, the big trend in the elevator industry right now is building owners want to migrate off traditional phone lines for their elevator phones. And people in the fire and security and elevator space are perfectly aligned to help that building go to cellular.”
Worthington adds, “They can partner with Kings III [and] use our code-complaint cellular communicators, and really have that building owner start paying them every month for the cellular communication for the elevator phone. So, it’s a huge recurring revenue opportunity.”
