Palm Beach County to Bill Companies for False Alarms

Published: December 31, 1999

PALM BEACH, Fla.—The draft ordinance that will require alarm companies to be billed for false alarms has passed the Criminal Justice Commission and was read in December at the County Commissioners. The ordinance will bill alarm companies according to their false alarm rate. During this process, Palm Beach also checked to see if the 550 alarm companies doing business in the county were licensed with the state of Florida. Not even half was licensed.
