Published: July 31, 2002

SILVER SPRING, Md.—The Washington Automatic Fire Alarm Association (WAFAA) has merged with the Washington Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (WBFAA), forming a single association.

WBFAA President Howard Richardson said the merger will put everyone on the same track. “Previously, we would work on the same issues, but from different angles. Now, we can work together,” he said.

According to Richardson, the WAFAA had 95 percent of the support of its membership to go forward with the merger. All new WBFAA members will officially begin paying local and national dues as of Jan. 1, 2003.
