1999 CARE Summits Receive Positive Feedback
BETHESDA, Md. – The 25 summits held by the Coordinated Alarm Reduction Effort (CARE) in 1999 have received very high praise from attendees. The summits bring together law en-forcement and alarm industry profes-sionals to review what works in false alarm reduction. CARE, which is the follow-up project to the Model States Program, has concentrated on areas where there is demand for a summit and areas where false alarm rates are high.
The 25 summits averaged 30 people each with about two-thirds of attendees from law enforcement and the rest from the alarm business. Two summits are already scheduled for next year: Jan. 18 in Houston and March 22 in Oklahoma City. In addition, 14 other cities have been targeted for summits in 2000, including Orlando, Fla., Manchester, N.H., Pittsburgh and Los Angeles.
