CANASA Stands for Something More With Name Change

MARKHAM, Ontario, Canada – The Canadian Alarm and Security Association (CANASA) has a new name. The association, the largest association of electronic security professionals in Canada, will now be known as the Canadian Security Association.

The group will retain its CANASA acronym with a slight color change to its logo. The fourth “A” in CANASA is switching from red to black like the preceding letters, while the “SA” will retain a red color to emphasize “Security Association” for an association formed in 1977 to represent Canadian alarm companies.

“25 years later, our make-up is much more than alarm dealers. Being the only association in Canada, we have a diversified membership,” says Tracy Cannata, executive director of CANASA. “Our counterparts in the U.S. talk about the type of members NBFAA has, CSAA has and SIA has. We have all those types of members.”
