Former NSA Director Raises $32.5M for Cybersecurity Startup IronNet Cybersecurity

Keith Alexander says funding will be used to accelerate growth and scale the launch of IronNet’s product line.

Former U.S. National Security Agency Director Keith Alexander has raised $32.5 million for his cybersecurity startup, IronNet Cybersecurity, in a “Series A” funding round led by Trident Capital Cybersecurity.

According to a CNBC report, IronNet claims its technology detects and mitigates anomalous activity in the cyber infrastructure of a company through advanced behavioral models and analytics.

Alexander says the funding will help accelerate growth and scale the launch of the IronNet product line.

Alexander, the company’s chief executive, founded the company in 2014 with other top officials from the U.S. Department of Defense, the National Counterterrorism Center and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers also participated in the funding round.
