CONWAY, S.C. – Officials have installed 25 security cameras throughout the city of Conway to give police officers extra eyes in high traffic areas.
The cameras cost about $40,000 and are expected to deter criminal activity, WBMF News reports.

Video recorded by the cameras will be stored at police headquarters, allowing officers to review footage during case investigations.
To save money, the IT department at the police station will manage the cameras and video, rather than an outside security company.
