SSI Reveals Winners of 1st Awesome Application Awards at ASIS 2015

The program is geared toward providing vendors a platform to demonstrate actual, real-world deployments of their products in a problem-solution type scenario.

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Security Sales & Integration unveiled the winners of its inaugural Awesome Application Awards during the ASIS Int’l 61st Annual Seminar and Exhibits at the Anaheim Convention Center near Disneyland.

SSI Awesome Application Awards distinguish those manufacturers and vendors whose electronic security solutions have been proven in the field to meet security, safety or other organizational needs for end users. The first-ever winners are: ASSA ABLOY, Axis Communications, Regroup and System Surveyor.

A panel of experienced security industry professionals judged each entrant based on not only the technical merits and ease of installation of the product or technology solution, but also the ability of it to help integrators meet project bid, specification or design parameters; satisfy regulatory, compliance or code requirements; and deliver the highest level of system capabilities, features, functionality, user-friendliness, results and client satisfaction across the full range of general, niche and vertical market applications.

The judging committee: Paul Boucherle, principal, Matterhorn Consulting, and SSI‘s “Business Fitness” columnist ; Tony Byerly, executive vice president, electronic security, Diebold Inc.; Bob Dolph, SSI‘s “Tech Talk” columnist; Peter Giacalone, president, Giacalone Associates, and SSI‘s “Monitoring Matters” contributing columnist; Eric Yunag, president and CEO, Dakota Security Systems, and a member of is SSI‘s editorial advisory board.

All submitted project applications had to be installed or deployed in the past 18 months to be considered for the program. Here is a closer look at each winning entry:

• ASSA ABLOY’s EcoFlex electrified mortise lock platform, from group brands Corbin Russwin and SARGENT, was selected for an access control solution for a major financial corporation.
