Arecont Vision to Showcase New Cameras, Remote Setup Capabilities at ISC West 2018

Stop by the Arecont Vision booth at ISC West for a look at the new MegaDome UltraHD and ask about its Tri-Mode capability.

Arecont Vision’s Vice President of Marketing Jeff Whitney spoke to SSI about the cameras the company will be showcasing this year at ISC West. Check them out at booth 8045.

What is the top product or offering your company is showing off at ISC West this year, and what makes it unique or special?

Arecont Vision will be featuring the new MegaDome UltraHD, the latest installer-friendly, indoor/outdoor day/night camera, at ISC West in Booth #8045. The new MegaDome UltraHD adds Tri-Mode capability, offering the user the choice of 12-megapixels at 20 frames per second (fps), 4K at 30fps, or 1080p at 60fps, enabling delivery of outstanding video for a wide range of requirements.

Other features include a motorized remote focus/zoom P-iris lens mounted in a 3-axis gimbal. The MegaDome UltraHD improves video coverage and image quality while reducing the number of cameras (as well as total cost of ownership). By using the remote focus/zoom capability of the MegaDome UltraHD, any portion of the image can be digitally zoomed in without disrupting the entire scene or interrupting recording. This enhances overall security, life safety and situational awareness requirements with sufficient detail.

What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of their unique qualities?

The remote setup capabilities available on our SurroundVideo Omni G3 and MegaDome G3 models make installation and setup faster than ever. With remote setup, the installer mounts the camera and installs the PoE (Power over Ethernet) network cable and then dismounts the ladder or lift. The camera’s motorized varifocal lens package features remote positioning, focus, pan (359˚), tilt (90˚), and zoom capabilities for rapid, completely hands-free setup while the installer is safely on the ground. Future changes or adjustments to the view and focus can be made without requiring mounting a ladder or lift.

What else is new or noteworthy about the company for 2018?

At the heart of all Arecont Vision-brand cameras for 2018 is the in-house developed Massively Parallel Image Processing (MPIP) architecture, leveraging a built-in FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) integrated circuit. The architecture enables Arecont Vision cameras to be field upgraded with new advanced features and capabilities as they become available, while providing unmatched cybersecurity capabilities.

What is your company’s overall value proposition to installing security dealers/integrators? Why should they do business with you?

In addition to providing wider coverage and better image quality than analog products, Arecont Vision cameras can be easily updated or expanded to support new features and capabilities. Fewer cameras, licenses, installation and required accessories can further reduce maintenance and operational costs.

What do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace right now?

While some of the largest companies in the world continue to fully migrate towards megapixel technology, integrators continue to invest in the education of their sales, design and services people to ensure they can provide megapixel technology as a great benefit to their customer base. With groundbreaking cameras and technologies, and even more new products on the way, Arecont Vision is poised to fulfill these evolving needs for 2018.

Anything else you would like to add?

Arecont Vision continues to lead the way in megapixel video. Our products are designed and built in the U.S.A., and leverage the latest cutting-edge features and technologies.
