Bosch Power to Predict Event Details AIoT Offerings, Unveils New Flexidome Cameras & More

The company detailed its rollout of over 50 new products that have been or will be released in 2021, including the Flexidome IP starlight 8000i X Series.

FAIRPORT, N.Y. — Bosch held its first Power to Predict Live virtual event for customers around the world last week. During this inaugural event, the company detailed its AIoT transformation — combining artificial intelligence (AI) with the Internet of Things (IoT).

AIoT video systems from Bosch deliver the power to predict, are built on trust and support sustainable business practices, according to the company. Attendees spent approximately three hours participating in panel and educational sessions, chatting with product experts in the virtual expo hall and interacting with a variety of unique content.

Bosch says the Power to Predict Live virtual event was designed to assist customers on their AIoT journey by providing guidance on the full potential and capabilities of Bosch AIoT products and software. A live stream, breakout sessions and a roundtable discussion with management aimed to guide customers in delivering predictive, sustainable and trusted solutions that address the challenges their customers face in their businesses and organizations.

During the event, the company detailed its rollout of over 50 new products that have been or will be released in 2021. The new products include cameras, such as the FLEXIDOME multi 7000i that combines multidirectional overviews with actionable insights for wide-area coverage applications, the new FLEXIDOME IP starlight 8000i X Series that offer enhanced image quality for low-light scenes with fast-moving objects thanks to HDR X and starlight X technologies, and the MIC inteox 7100i cameras that combine machine learning, deep neural network-based video analytics, and the ability to add third-party apps with a ruggedized housing for extreme environments.

New additions in software and recording solutions include the Bosch Video Management System 11.0 with a map-based tracking assistant and the DIVAR IP all-in-one 7000 recording units. Bosch will also introduce enhancements to its Remote Portal Cloud-based service later this year.

For the audience in North America, Bosch shared that it has expanded its sales team to help system integrators find and pursue new projects and opportunities to help them grow. The North American management team also thanked the system integrators who have joined the company’s ×2 Connect Video Partner Program that launched earlier this year, and encouraged others to register to benefit from the sales and after-sales assistance, training, and marketing tools available as part of the new program.

They also highlighted virtual instructor-led training courses available to help customers get trained and certified on Bosch products and systems safely and from the convenience of their home or office, and previewed a new Experience and Technology Center opening in the U.S. later this year. Customers can also expect a series of Technology Road Show events. The company says all of these initiatives are designed to provide customers more hand-on experience with the new Bosch products and technology highlighted at the virtual event.

Flexidome IP Starlight 8000i X Series

In addition to the features mentioned above, the new Flexidome IP starlight 8000i X Series cameras offer 2- or 4-megapixel resolution and custom optics.

The new starlight X technology is said to help significantly improve image capture during the day, as well as excel in near-dark scenes, ensuring color images down to 0.0061 lux due to its custom optics, Bosch advanced image processing algorithms and noise suppression.

HDR X enables the cameras to optimize video capture in scenes with fast-moving objects with a dynamic range up to 144 dB. The camera’s new 1/1.8 inch sensor further improves image quality across all light levels. The camera’s built-in artificial intelligence featuring Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) and machine learning (Camera Trainer) is said to offer more relevant data supporting predictive solutions in mission-critical applications.

The new cameras also feature Bosch remote device management, which is a combination of tools like Project Assistant and Configuration Manager and services for secure, transparent, and cost-effective device management throughout a product’s life.

The remote wireless configuration and commissioning functionality of the Flexidome IP starlight 8000i range enables installers to work smarter while onsite, according to the company. With any Flexidome IP starlight 8000i camera, commissioning can be done entirely wireless — no need for ladders or lifts. Installers can use the Bosch Project Assistant app installed on a wireless tablet or smartphone to adjust the pan, tilt, roll and zoom (PTRZ) and set the required field of view without touching the camera or lens.

With remote device management, any PTRZ adjustments required post-installation, such as new system layouts or altered high-risk zones, can be conducted offsite. System integrators can also perform services such as changing configuration settings or installing firmware updates.
