Uniview tec – a new dawn

4K Camera Series

uniview tec’s 4K camera series include the recent addition of three new 8MP cameras — a Turret style (IPT4K212M), a Bullet (IPB4K212M) and the IK10 rated Vandal Dome (IPV4K212M). The new 4K series cameras provide 3,840 x 2,160 resolution, a 2.8mm ~ 12mm Motorized vari-focal, auto focus lens, TDN and WDR to meet all lighting conditions and embedded SMART-IR LED illumination to provide night-time color image reproduction and operation up to 98 feet and 164 feet(IPB4K212M). The features also include corridor view for maximum resolution in narrow aisles and hallways, a SD slot for local and ANR recording options, 1- and 2-way audio options, triple video streaming, ONVIF Profile S compliance, powerful video analytics, IP67 ratings, and IK10 rating for the vandal dome.

The built-in SD card slot enables local camera storage up to 128GB and is used to provide video backup in the event of a network failure. The Automatic Network Replenishment (ANR) feature of the 4K cameras will record the camera’s video on the SD card if a network interruption occurs. Upon network correction, the camera will automatically replenish the SD card video to the network recorder. A comprehensive line of camera mounts and pre-connector cables are available to ensure an easy installation.

As with most uniview tec cameras the 4K camera models handle a wide range of harsh environmental conditions, with a wide voltage range tolerance of up to +/-25%, lightning surges of up to 6KV and wide operating temperatures ranging from -40º to +140º F.

All uniview tec cameras interface with the uniview tec VMS, MAC VMS, iOS and Android devices for remote viewing capability and control.

Ultra 265 Compression

The univew tec products feature Ultra 265 compression meaning you can see more with less, by providing high resolution images with lower bitrates and reduced storage requirements. The Ultra 265 is based on uniview tec’s U-Code enhanced encoding technology which saves bandwidth and storage requirements up to 80% to 95% compared with standard H.264/H.265 compression technologies by using both univew tec cameras and uniview tec network video recorders (NVRs).

The Ultra 265 compression provides a lower bandwidth solution by allowing more cameras to be placed on the network without loading down the internal IT infrastructure. For example, using a typical 2MP camera you can employ twenty cameras on a 20Mb broadband network versus only being able to employ five cameras on the same 20Mb network using H.264 compression cameras. In addition, when it comes to video retention for a period of three months the Ultra 265 compression reduces the amount of storage required from four 4 TB drives to only one 4 TB drives when using four 2MP cameras. For mobile devices the lower bandwidth provides faster image update options to enhance the camera images displayed on the mobile device.
