Case Study: Casino Receives Winning Video Security Solution

Northern California Native American casino deploys latest in surveillance technology from Genetec to add an advanced layer of protection for its guests and employees.

ConnectionsIT has deployed of a new advanced security video surveillance system for Black Bart Casino near Willits, California.

Black Bart is a Native American casino located in Mendocino County, California.  It hosts approximately 5,000 square feet of gaming space; with more than 220 gaming machines on the floor and 260 employees. Black Bart has the challenge of providing reliable and accessible video surveillance throughout its casino, 24/7.

As a leading security system integrator, ConnectionsIT works with all types of security product and service companies to create the right solution that custom fits the needs of a particular casino environment.  ConnectionsIT has a long and impressive history of working with Native American casinos such as the Comanche, Muscogee Creek, Choctaw, Paiute, and several Pomo Bands to incorporate the industry’s best product providers into solutions that deliver results.

To provide the best video surveillance solution for Black Bart Casino, ConnectionsIT worked with Genetec to incorporate the casino’s existing 130 analog cameras with 25 new IP cameras integrated over a virtual matrix system.  The cameras and surveillance system are operated by Genetec’s advanced Omnicast IP surveillance solution.  Omnicast offers the flexibility to incorporate the previous cameras with the newer IP-based cameras in a seamless operation that allows for future growth and system expansion.

Omnicast also provides Black Bart Casino security employees with the ability to custom-fit the camera interfaces for easier PTZ maneuverability for monitoring the more cash sensitive exchange areas and to quickly select angles to handle emergency incidents.  In addition, Omncast’s other cutting-edge features such as advance alarm notifications, motion detection, and automated 4 CIF camera resolution settings are all designed to provide maximum performance and system flexibility for the casino operators.

“We are very impressed with the overall performance and system capabilities of the security video surveillance solution that ConnectionsIT helped to design,” said Kani Neves, Executive Director Sherwood Valley Gaming Commission, which operates the casino.  “ConnectionsIT and Genetec make a good team and we are sure that the technology we are deploying today will permit us to grow the system seamlessly to handle a new 50,000 square foot facility that we have planned for the future.”

“Flexibility and performance are the key ingredients necessary to creating lasting security video surveillance solutions for today’s casino environments,” said Brody Carlson, President of ConnectionsIT.  “We work with the best and most innovative security product providers to ensure that we are delivering the best systems for the dollar.  Native American casinos such as Black Bart have very high standards when it comes to protecting their investment and we are pleased to be a trusted partner in providing a security solution that meets their expectations.”
