IDIS at ISC West 2019: Serving Up a Super Fisheye Camera Line

IDIS will arrive in Las Vegas with the latest additions to its camera line, which includes the 12-megapixel Panamorph and other fisheye models.

ISC West 2019 will be held April 9-12 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.

Ahead of this year’s show, SSI spoke with Keith Drummond, senior director, IDIS America, to see what the video surveillance technology provider will be showcasing for its dealer partners.

What is the top product or offering your company is showing off at ISCW this year, and what makes it unique or special?

We’re really shining the spotlight on our Super Fisheye line at this show, and the differentiators that have made it such a breakout in the past year. Every one features our truly industry-leading dual-side dewarping, combined with our award-winning SmartUX Controls 2.0, which allow operators to track, swoop and zoom/expand throughout the entire field of view without sacrificing real-time situational awareness or response time due to the technology’s frustrating limitations of the past.

We love seeing how people get excited when we demo these products for them, because they’re as they always wanted and imagine Fisheye to be. Specifically, at ISC West, we’ll introduce the latest additions to the line, our 12MP Panamorph Fisheye and a brand new IDIS Compact 5MP IR Fisheye, which delivers all of the power of our IDIS Super Fisheye line with all the benefits of our new Compact Solutions line.

What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of their unique qualities?

IDIS will shine a light on our latest IDIS Deep Learning Analytics offerings, including new IDIS DV-2116 IDLA-ready hardware — with an embedded NVDIA GTZ1060 GPU chipset — plus the introduction of IDIS Intelligent Search, allowing tracking by color, object and number; and new IDIS face tracking technology.

What else is new or noteworthy about the company for 2019?

We’re also placing a focus on cybersecurity at this year’s show, with part of our booth devoted to the latest in IDIS cybersecurity offerings, including edge encryption and IDIS Chained Fingerprint —  the company’s proprietary integrity check which chains adjacent images with stored digital fingerprints, allowing for the detection of possible tampering or alteration — and the ways the technologies can benefit key vertical markets.

What is your company’s overall value proposition to installing security dealers/integrators? Why should they do business with you?

Our total solution approach continues to be our strongest value proposition, as is the fact that our solution is designed, developed and manufactured in South Korea, and guaranteed to work and work together exactly as promised — and that extends to analog-IP integrations, as well as third-party installations, too, through our partner agreements and ONVIF compliance.

Because we offer a total solution that we design and make ourselves —analog and IP, from image capture, through recording, storage, and analytics, through display — we can offer performance, quality and redundancy/failover guarantees no one else can.

And that includes both forward/backward compatibility guarantees and industry-leading warranties that, when combined with our Dallas-based tech support, really drive home our value proposition: the technology to meet any surveillance need or any size, that is easy to install and use, with one of the industry’s lowest total costs of ownership.

What do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace right now?

With the mind-bending pace of new product and new technology introductions, and the pitched cost vs. quality tensions we’re seeing, there’s real opportunity in being a company that innovates aggressively, but does so in a way that is clear, understandable, and reliable, keeping a focus on what the market needs, is using, and is asking for.

IDIS delivers a premium quality product utilizing models that keep the price lower than traditional premium brands, while also offering solutions for cost-conscious small and medium-sized enterprises that guarantee quality they won’t see with the low-price leaders.

We shoot straight, and we deliver what we say we do, and we spend a lot of our revenue each year carefully developing the improvements and technologies — such as our IDIS Deep Learning Analytics — that provide value today and tomorrow to the market.

Those are a great example, by the way, as the continued evolution of surveillance analytics lifts all boats, if you will, allowing surveillance to really earn its keep by not only ensuring safety and security, but also providing key business intelligence that can help a business optimize profitability, not just avoid loss and exposure.

Anything else you would like to add?

Just an invitation to the booth, #18059, this year. We’ve got one of our most exciting and diverse lineups this year, and we’ll also be launching our new social campaign, “Create a Better World” which is tied to our commitment to improving the communities we serve in ways big and small.

If folks drop by, they may very well leave with a gift card or even a Smart Home starter pack as part of the “Create a Better World” kick-off, so it’s definitely a stop work making this ISC West!
