Razberi Enhances Device Monitoring to Reduce Video Surveillance Downtime

New Razberi enhancements are said to use deep packet inspection to monitor video quality and camera security, among other feature sets.

DALLAS — Razberi Technologies has extended its Monitor solution with new video health monitoring features. The company leverages its patent-pending deep packet inspection technology to assure security professionals that their cameras are providing secure and reliable audio and video streams, the company says.

Razberi Monitor is a health monitoring software that provides enterprise network administrators with a real-time view of their network health from anywhere in the world, according to the company. It also provides visibility into multiple sites and allows users to securely manage the system remotely from one location.

Monitor is said to provide complete system health and cyber-monitoring solutions for video surveillance systems. The software integrates video health with the company’s CameraDefense — which provides automated camera hardening to protect surveillance and other networked devices from cybersecurity threats — for a complete camera health and cybersecurity solution. The Monitor software also detects video server, storage and malware issues in real-time.

Among other feature sets, Razberi’s latest software automatically reboots cameras and sends alerts when problems are detected. Video health monitoring with the camera reboot feature is immediately available with the company’s EndpointDefender and ServerSwitchIQ intelligent edge video appliances.

“The camera reboot feature automates a major remediation step, saving Razberi customers time and money,” states Stephen Schwartz, vice president of product development, Razberi Technologies.

Razberi’s announcement states the company’s EndpointDefender and ServerSwitchIQ with video health monitoring enables Portland, Ore.-based Cook Security Group to save on the cost of sending maintenance crews to check on potential downed cameras. The camera reboot feature eliminates the need to physically check a camera for data loss and automates the process.

“This feature will greatly benefit our customers, along with our NOC, many times a camera needs a simple reboot to restore functionality,” says Daniel Smallwood, vice president of product at Cook Security Group.  “Solutions like this are exactly why we partnered with Razberi.”
