Speco at ISC West 2019: Color Video at Night, Active Shooter Integration & More

Speco will be showcasing its Ultra Intensifier technology which eliminates the need for IR LEDs and monochrome video when there is a slight amount of ambient light.

ISC West 2019 takes place in Las Vegas April 9-12 at the Sands Expo Center.

Ahead of this year’s show, SSI spoke with Speco Technologies Vice President of Sales & Marketing Timothy Dickinson to see what the company will showing at ISC West.

What is the top product or offering your company is showing off at ISCW this year, and what makes it unique or special

Speco’s exclusive Ultra Intensifier is the next generation of Intensifier technology that captures color video in ultra-low light, eliminating the need for IR LEDs and monochrome video when there is a slight amount of ambient light. The combination of the latest sensor technology, a large aperture lens and special image processing allows the new cameras to capture incredibly vivid color images without image ghosting and noise. Giving you color by day, and color by night!

What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of their unique qualities?

SecureGuard v2.6 just got better with Active Shooter Detection System, Real Time Event List & Mass Alert Capabilities. SecureGuard v2.6 introduces integrations with today’s top active shooter detection systems. Be prepared to act in an active shooter situation with SecureGuard and Guardian by Shooter Detection Systems.

Guardian deploys sensors which detects audible and infrared technology to detect gunshots. SecureGuard is also integrated with Shot Tracer’s Eagle AP sensors with patent pending technology that detect the concussion emissions of a gunshot. Combine gunshot detection technologies with SecureGuard’s e-Map support, camera linking, pre/post alarm recording and SMS Alerts and be ready should the unimaginable happens.

What else is new or noteworthy about the company for 2019?

With technology changing on a daily basis, we are constantly evolving and looking to bring new solutions and products to the marketplace.

What is your company’s overall value proposition to installing security dealers/integrators? Why should they do business with you?

We have a full line of TAA-compliant products and most of our cameras come with the junction box included, to save the installer an extra step. Our Tech Support department is always ready and willing to help out with any questions or issues that may arise out in the field. We strive to make doing business with us an efficient and enjoyable experience.

What do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace right now?

In today’s marketplace there is always opportunity for growth. With a constant demand for surveillance and security, especially with crimes occurring at night, our Ultra Intensifier is our biggest opportunity right now. To be able to provide a full color picture and no ghosting in the middle of the night, it is in a league of its own.
