TRENDnet Releases Its First 4K Surveillance Cameras with Covert IR LEDs

In addition to releasing its first 4K security cameras, TRENDnet has partnered with Router Limits for a new router offering advanced web content filtering and productivity tools.

TORRANCE, Calif. — TRENDnet adds two new 4K UHD PoE surveillance cameras featuring a covert design and smart IR LEDs to its portfolio of network cameras.

The TV-IP318PI model is an indoor/outdoor 8MP 4K H.265 WDR PoE IR bullet network camera, while the TV-IP319PI is an indoor/outdoor 8MP 4K H.265 WDR PoE IR dome network camera.

TRENDnet says the covert lens design masks the IR LEDs, making them invisible to the human eye during night viewing. Smart IR technology dynamically adjusts the IR LEDs to improve night vision video quality.

This means as objects move closer to the camera, IR intensity is lowered, and when objects move farther away, IR intensity is increased. This is said to help keep the image from becoming washed out.

“Cameras that support 4K resolution provide more than just high-quality video feeds,” says Evan Davis, senior manager of sales engineering at TRENDnet. “TRENDnet’s new 4K IP cameras also allow for the best balance of low light performance, better digital zoom quality and it improves analytic performance for license plate (LPR) and facial recognition.”

All TRENDnet IP cameras include complimentary pro-grade camera management software and free mobile apps.

Does TRENDnet have a matching DVR/NVR that can handle simultaneous recordings of these feeds at 4K resolution?
