Despite primarily serving a celebratory purpose, fireworks are essentially explosives and can do some serious damage in the wrong hands. Look no further than this incident in Texas as an example.

Surveillance video shows a suspect run into a porta potty in a parking lot. Moments later, he sprints away as the structure begins to glow before exploding in a shower of fireworks.

The suspect can then be seen fleeing in a pickup truck. The explosion not only destroyed the $5,000 porta potty, but also damaged a nearby trailer and building.

Also this week…

Surveillance footage from Miami Beach show a liquor store owner taking matters into his own hands after being fed up with being repeatedly robbed.

The video shows the owner beating the suspect out of the store with a club. There is also video of a previous incident that shows the owner breaking a bottle over a suspect’s head after shoving his wife while trying to make off with a bottle of liquor.
