Visionary.ai, Innoviz Partner to Deliver Accurate 3D Imaging in Challenging Conditions

Visionary.ai and Innoviz are combining imaging technologies with LiDAR sensors and software to improve machine vision.

JERUSALEM —Visionary.ai, a developer of software-based image signal processing technologies, and Innoviz, a provider of LiDAR sensors and perception software, are collaborating to upgrade machine vision performance.

The two companies emphasize the combined power of their respective technologies will improve 3D machine vision performance for a variety of applications that includes robotics, smart cities, and drones.

“Visionary.ai’s software-based ISP enables cameras to achieve cutting-edge image quality in difficult conditions. Together with Innoviz’s LiDAR and Perception Software, we can improve detection performance even further” says Omer Keilaf, CEO and co-founder at Innoviz. “We are pleased to join forces to offer an advanced machine vision solution to many applications that need it for safety.”

3D Machine Vision Represents Next-Generation Video Surveillance Technologies

Explaining how the combined efforts of the two companies will enable improved system performance, Visionary.ai and Innoviz state that Visionary.ai’s True Night Vision technology features artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance image quality, especially in low-light environments. As part of its AI-based technologies, Visionary.ai utilizes software ISP to capture images in real time.

Innoviz’s part of the collaboration provides high-resolution LiDAR that will upgrade Visionary.ai 2D ISP capabilities to 3D.

The results, the two companies continue, will provide users with machine vision capabilities that capture highly accurate 3D images in a range of conditions that include low-light with HDR (high dynamic range), and other environmental conditions such as heavy rain, fog, high motion and situations where there are flashing lights.

Visionary.ai CEO Oren Debbi notes the companies’ respective technologies offer high levels of performance, and when combined there are even higher levels of performance available to users.

“Machine vision is easy to achieve in situations of good lighting, but 90% of machine vision failures occur in situations of difficult visibility, specifically, low-light and HDR,” adds Debbi.

“By improving accuracy in difficult imaging circumstances, we’re able to offer game-changing technology, that together with Innoviz’s LiDAR technology can improve machine vision applications across many applications.”
