Vivotek Releases NDAA-Compliant Split-Type Camera System

Vivotek says the VC9101 split-type camera system incorporates a video core that is capable of streaming 5MP 360° fisheye images or 4MP 16:9 aspect ratio images.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Vivotek, a global manufacturer of IP surveillance products, announces the release of its new VC9101 high-performance, split-type camera system.

The West Coast-based company says that its latest product is NDAA-compliant, and it can reside in indoor and outdoor locations.

“The VC9101’s discreet design, rich functionality, and ability to be flexibly integrated into even the tightest spaces, make this camera ideal for indoor or covert surveillance of ATMs, banks, stores and offices,” says David Liu, president of Vivotek USA, Inc.

“The VC9101 features a separate camera unit [CU series] and video core design, enabling the tiny camera unit (with 5-meter long cable) to be easily and flexibly installed into any decoration or interior design, thus preserving stylish appearances while dramatically saving on installation time and cost.”

Vivotek VC9101 Features Advanced Processing

Elaborating on the capabilities of its newest product, Vivotek says the split-type camera system incorporates a video core that employs a robust processor that is capable of streaming 5MP 360° fisheye images or 4MP 16:9 aspect ratio images.

The VC9101 also features a convolutional neural network (CNN) hardware accelerator to facilitate the system’s deep learning VCA to be more efficient and powerful. Vivotek continues by noting the system’s deep learning also provides face detection that is suitable for most situations.

Vivotek notes the VC9101 camera core supports a choice of four types of camera units: CU9171-H, CU9171-HF, CU9183-H and CU9183-HF.

Additionally, the company says the system offers a range advanced features that are found in its cameras, including WDR Pro, SNV, Smart Stream III technology, 3DNR, and security features such as secure boot, signed firmware, and Trend Micro cybersecurity.

Summing up the benefits of its latest product, Vivotek emphasizes the VC9101 offers integrators several advantages that include:

  • Discreet Appearance: The smaller camera form factor enabled by the split core/camera design allows for a less obtrusive appearance where there are aesthetic concerns or situations where integrators need to reduce the risk of opportunistic tampering or vandalism.
  • Flexible Selection for Different Scenarios: With a choice of four WDR camera units: the CU9171-H(F) pinhole type, and the CU9183-H(F) fisheye type for 180° Panoramic View, the VC9101 provides integrators with system design flexibility. The split-type camera system can be used to monitor spaces such as ATMs, elevators;  a single large space, or it can provide different types of views, among other possible usage scenarios.
  • Greater Coverage with Simplified Installation: The camera unit can be connected to the core unit and positioned up to five meters (16.4 feet) away to allow the small camera unit to be easily and flexibly installed into any decoration or interior design.
  • Easier Maintenance and Upgrades: The modular design of the VC9101 makes removing individual camera units for maintenance or replacement easy. Moreover, upgrades are simple, according to the company since they need only involve swapping out of a camera unit and not replacement of the entire system.
